The planet Psi was found suitable for colonization when it was discovered by people in 2256. After they had sent the expedition escorted by the Federation’s fleet, it was clear that the planet wasn’t adapted for this purpose. The only possible things that they could take were the useful organic substances, which atmosphere. Few years later specialized space ships were constructed to collect these substances. So they were escorted to the Planet by the Federation’s fighters.
